Have you wondered why children ask so many questions?
Curiosity.
Between 9 and 15 months of age, a baby typically starts taking its first steps. Just imagine the level of curiosity developing in such a young child. From observing others walk to making countless attempts at crawling, pulling up, bench-pressing and falling, this curiosity drives them to eventually walk and run in no time.
As that child grows, they become curious about various subjects in school and continue to develop until they land their first dream job at around 23.
However, by the time we reach 25, many of us find ourselves bogged down by daily routines and responsibilities, and our curiosity often fades as we focus on ticking off tasks from our to-do lists sitting there everyday in front of our desk.
At this point, many of us stop truly living at 25 and are merely going through the motions till the end of time.
Our curiosity dies regarding the subjects we are passionate about and that truly matter to us. Fear has set in with scanning the dangers of the world as try to mitigate what we already have achieved, unaware that the daily grind can obscure the vast possibilities still ahead of us.
So what is curiosity…
in simple terms
Curiosity = a strong desire to know or learn something.
so how can curiosity make a difference to your life.
Ever wondered what your purpose in life is?
If you deeply consider this simple question over time, it can unlock countless pathways in your mind, sparking genuine curiosity. When combined with a growth MinDset, this can lead to achieving outcomes you might never have thought possible.
Just like that baby trying to walk and falling multiple times, but with a strong desire, curiosity and self-discovery to learn, the baby is running within short period of time.
An example of how genuine curiosity can lead to endless possibilities
There are many examples from history of how curios people changed the world forever.
Albert Einstein, through his genuine curiosity, broke the laws of physics, and provided new groundbreaking laws that revolutionised the understanding of space and time.
Einstein’s relentless curiosity drove him to question established scientific principles and explore new ideas. His willingness to challenge conventional wisdom and explore the fundamental nature of reality led to groundbreaking discoveries that transformed modern physics. His work not only advanced our understanding of the universe but also inspired countless scientists and thinkers to pursue their own scientific inquiries.
A simple summary to the MinDvesting philosophy from todays post:
Curiosity, by its very nature, counters fear.
The fear of unknown can be eliminated through genuine curiosity, as we start to explore and understand ourself from within. This continuous effort over time of curiosity MinDset will help you finding your passion and state of flow, where time starts to work for you.
Most of us are trying to get to significance in life, through our natural survival instinct. Though, breaking the cycle and self-actualising on your purpose, finding your state of flow, through genuine curiosity will allow you to achieve the ultimate growth.
Remember the limiting factor in all of the above is only the MinD.
